Historic Saint Paul

Gar Hargens, AIA owns Close Associates, Inc. Architects in Minneapolis where he has worked for thirty-eight years. Founded by Modernists, Gar has broadened his Firm’s work to include many award winning preservation projects. Gar taught and directed a studio in the U of M’s School of Architecture for ten years. He just retired after nine years on the Saint Paul Heritage Preservation Commission, three years as its Chair. Gar feels privileged to live in Cass Gilbert’s Portland Terrace townhomes.
