In preparation for fall home improvement projects, Dayton’s Bluff District Council and Historic Saint Paul partnered on HSP’s second “Free Design Event”. Architects sat down with home owners to discuss their ideas and investigate solutions.

4th Street Preservation Project - Design Charette

The purpose of the charrette is to explore redevelopment scenarios for a six-block area in the Dayton’s Bluff Historic District. This neighborhood is the target of the city’s Fourth Street Preservation Project, described by Saint Paul City Council President Kathy Lantry at last spring’s Food for Thought.

The Payne Phalen neighborhood is home to a rich collection of architectural styles: Italianate, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Victorian, Prairie Style and Vernacular.
