Historic Saint Paul will lead a tour of Restore Saint Paul projects during the National Preservation Conference. The tour of the Dayton’s Bluff and Payne-Phalen neighborhoods will feature residential and commercial historic restoration projects sponsored by Historic Saint Paul through the Restore Saint Paul loan program.
The tour will focus on the role of historic preservation in promoting local community development. We will pay special attention to the challenges and opportunities of promoting historic preservation in low to moderate-income neighborhoods and among diverse communities. The tour will also highlight the history of Saint Paul’s East Side and historic neighborhood landmarks.
The tour will be offered on two dates during the conference: October 4th and 5th. The tour departs from the Saint Paul Rivercentre at 8:30 a.m. and will return at noon. Download a draft map to view the tour route (the route is subject to change).
