Summit University Bike Tour

HSP Board members Michael Koop and Brian Horrigan conducted architectural biking tours of the Summit-University neighborhood on back-to-back evenings of June 24th and 25th on behalf of Smart Trips, a new organization promoting transit alternatives in St. Paul. Highlights included newly restored Summit Avenue stone houses, new infill housing in the neighborhood, Cass Gilbert’s Swedenborgian Church, St. Joseph’s Academy on Marshall, the new Steppingstone Theater building on Victoria, and —finally— St. Paul’s last remaining wood-block paved alley, near Lexington and Portland. We covered lots of ground, lots of buildings, and had a great time. Visit the HSP events page for similar programs to be scheduled in the near future!
